Journal of Applied and Action Research in Islamic Education (JAARIE) We are pleased to announce the inaugural issue of the Journal of Applied and Action Research in Islamic Education (JAARIE), a quarterly peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding and practice of Islamic education through applied and action research.
Scope of the Journal
The Journal of Applied and Action Research in Islamic Education (JAARIE) invites original scholarly contributions that bridge theory and practice in Islamic education. The journal focuses on diverse areas, including Action Research in Islamic Education, exploring classroom practices, curriculum design, pedagogical strategies, and teacher- student interactions. It also emphasizes Applied Research, encouraging studies on innovative approaches that integrate Islamic values into modern educational systems, technology-enhanced learning, and policy analysis. Additionally, the journal seeks Comparative Studies that examine Islamic education models across cultures and their impact on learners, as well as research on Educational Development, covering institutional reforms, teacher training, and leadership in Islamic schools, madrasas, and higher education. Another key focus is the Societal Impact of Islamic education, particularly its role in fostering community engagement, ethical leadership, and moral development.
Methodological Focus
JAARIE welcomes research employing diverse methodologies to enrich the discourse on Islamic education. The journal accepts Qualitative Research methods such as ethnographies, case studies, phenomenology, and grounded theory, alongside Quantitative Research involving surveys, experiments, statistical modeling, and meta- analyses. It values Mixed Methods studies that combine qualitative and quantitative approaches for comprehensive insights and encourages Action Research that collaborates directly with educators and institutions to address real-world challenges. Furthermore, the journal invites Theoretical and Conceptual Studies that develop new frameworks or reevaluate traditional Islamic educational concepts, ensuring a well-rounded exploration of the field.
Publishing Frequency
JAARIE is a quarterly journal, publishing in January, April, July, and October.
Submission Deadline
JAARIE maintains an open submission policy, allowing authors to submit their manuscripts at any time. There is no fixed deadline—submissions are accepted year- round. Once a manuscript is submitted, it will be immediately considered for review through our rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
